Description
This simple holster nub mod enlarges and extends the contact area of the small release button on Safariland ALS holsters. Release consistency and reliability is increased significantly and draw time is reduced. It is a must have upgrade in my opinion.
The grooved, enlarged contact area of the button provides no-slip activation and increased leverage. Virtually eliminates the possibility of attempting to draw the gun before the release is activated. The angled design matches the pad of the thumb much better than the stock button. Especially beneficial for thigh rigs or setups that position the holster further away from the body. The grooved, enlarged surface area makes support hand drawing much easier as well.
There are pros and cons to any piece of equipment. Just as the holster nub mod makes it easier for you to draw your weapon it also makes it easier for someone else to access your weapon as well. In duty applications, thought and consideration must be given to this possibility.
Available in black for Safariland ALS 6000 series right-handed holsters. Installs in 10 seconds by simply pressing the nub mod over the factory button until it clicks in place. The button stays in place during rigorous activity but can be glued in place for additional security.
This mod does not work with SLS or holsters that have the rotating hood. There isn’t enough clearance between the side of the button and the rotating arm of the hood to prevent binding. In some cases, it is possible to bevel the top left edge of the button and bend the rotating hood arm to provide enough clearance but this is not recommended. We cannot be responsible if modifications are made to the button or the holster hood in an attempt to make the mod work on SLS holsters.
Safariland has two different sizes of release buttons on their holsters. Any holster manufactured after February of 2024 has what’s referred to as the long nub button (pictured below). We are currently only offering a mod for the long nub lever. We will have a mod for the short nub holsters (manufactured prior to February 2024) very soon.
